ORDINANCE NO. 564
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE
ADOPTING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE PORTION OF
SAID COUNTY WITHIN THE SOUTHEAST DESERT AIR BASIN
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State
of California, do ordain as follows:
Section 1. The rules and
regulations of the Southern California Air Pollution Control District existing
on January 31, 1977, a copy of which is on file with the Clerk of this Board of
Supervisors, are hereby adopted to apply to that portion of the County of
Riverside within the Southeast Desert Air Basin defined in Section 60109 of
Title 17 of the California Administrative Code.
Section 2. This ordinance is
declared to be an urgency measure and shall take effect upon its adoption. The facts constituting the urgency are: On February 1, 1977, the South Coast Air
Quality Management District supersedes the Southern California Air Pollution
Control District; the new district's boundaries coincide with those of the
South Coast Air Basin, leaving no district with regulations applicable to the
easterly portion of Riverside County; the immediate adoption of the previously
existing rules is necessary to maintain a measure of continuity of necessary
air pollution controls pending due consideration and adoption of rules and
regulations to replace those heretofor in effect.
