ORDINANCE NO. 587
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE
AUTHORIZING THE REDEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTY
UNINCORPORATED AREA BY THE CITY OF PALM DESERT
The Board of Supervisors of the
County of Riverside, State of California, do ordain as follows:
Section 1.
The Board of Supervisors has been requested by the Palm Desert
Redevelopment Agency to designate the City of Palm Desert to undertake the
redevelopment of that certain real property located within the territorial
limits of the County of Riverside, contiguous to the City of Palm Desert, more
particularly described on Exhibit A, attached hereto. The Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the redevelopment of
such real property located in the County of Riverside by the City of Palm
Desert and the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency. The City of Palm Desert and
the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency are hereby designated by the Board of
Supervisors to undertake such redevelopment.
Section 2.
Prior to deciding whether to authorize the redevelopment by the City of
Palm Desert and the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency of that certain real
property located within the territorial limits of the County, more particularly
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, and designate the City of Palm Desert
and the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency to undertake such redevelopment, and
prior to taking action on the Redevelopment Plan, as amended, for Project Area
No. 1, as amended, of the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, the Board of
Supervisors, as a responsible agency, has reviewed and considered the contents
of the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Proposed Expansion of the City
of Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency Boundaries prepared by the Palm Desert
Redevelopment Agency and the Final Environmental Report on the Flood Control
Works for Palm Desert ‑ Rancho Mirage ‑ Indian Wells prepared by
the Coachella Valley County Water District.
The Final Environmental Impact Report prepared by the Coachella Valley
County Water District identified potentially significant environmental effects
in the areas of air resources, biological resources, historical and
archaeological resources, land use and development, and circulation and
access. The mitigation or avoidance of
such potentially significant environmental effects is within the responsibility
and jurisdiction of the Coachella Valley County Water District, which is the
public agency responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of the
proposed flood control works, The
Coachella Valley County Water District has adopted mitigation measures for such
potentially significant environmental effects.
Section 3. The Redevelopment Plan, as
amended, is hereby approved, and is hereby designated as the official
Redevelopment Plan for Project Area No. 1, as amended.

REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT NO. 1, AS AMENDED
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Section 6, Township
6 South, Range 6 East, San Bernardino Meridian; thence southerly along the
easterly line of said Section 6 to the east quarter corner of said Section 6;
thence westerly along the northerly line of the southeast quarter of said
Section 6 to the northeasterly corner of the south‑west quarter of said
Section 6; thence southerly and westerly along the easterly and southerly lines
of said last mentioned southwest quarter to the southwesterly corner of said
Section 6; thence westerly and northerly along the southerly and westerly lines
of the south‑east quarter of Section 1, Township 6 South, Range 5 East,
San Bernardino Meridian to the northwesterly corner of said last mentioned
southeast quarter; thence westerly along the southerly line of the northwest
quarter of said Section 1 to a point in a straight line which bears South from
a point in the northerly line of said Section 1 distant westerly along said
last mentioned northerly line 4200.00 feet from the northeasterly corner of
said Section 1; thence northerly along said straight line to said last
mentioned northerly line; thence easterly along said last mentioned northerly
line to the point of beginning.
