ORDINANCE NO. 601.4

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE AMENDING

ORDINANCE NO. 601 RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF JURORS

 

 

 

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State of California, do ordain as follows:

 

Section 1.  Authority.

The authority for this ordinance is contained in Section 215 of the Code of Civil Procedure and Section 890 of the Penal Code.

 

Section 2.  Trial Jurors.

The fee for trial jurors in the superior, municipal and justice courts of the County of Riverside, in civil and criminal cases, is Five Dollars ($5.00), in lawful money of the United States, for each day's attendance as a juror.  All trial jurors shall be reimbursed for the expense of traveling from their residence to the place where court is to be held at the rate of Fifteen Cents ($0.15) per mile; provided, however, that this reimbursement shall be made only for each day the juror is required to, and actually does, attend court.

 

Section 3.

The fees for each day's attendance as a Grand Juror shall be $15.00 per half day (4 hours or less) or $25.00 per day (more than 4 hours).  A Grand Juror shall be reimbursed for the expense of traveling from their residence to and from the place where the session is held at the rate consistent with that allowed per mile for County employees; Grand Jurors shall likewise be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenditures for meals and other items.  This reimbursement shall only be made for each day the Grand Juror is required to, and actually does, attend activities in the performance of duties as a Grand Juror.
