ORDINANCE NO. 728

AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE

EXERCISING POWERS OF A VECTOR CONTROL PROGRAM

WITH THE POWERS OF THE VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT PER

CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE 25842.5

Section 1. AUTHORITY.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors, acting pursuant to California Government Code 25842.5 will hereby exercise the same powers of a Vector Control District as set forth in California Health and Safety Code 2200 through 2360 in the central portion of the County as described in attached Exhibit AI@ and AII@ and these powers and such services that are rendered thereunder shall be carried out by the Riverside County Health Services Agency Department of Environmental Health.

Section 2. FINDING OF THE VECTOR CONTROL PROGRAM.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors acting pursuant to Health and Safety Code 2270 and 2291.4 hereby authorizes funding from the General Fund for the fiscal year 1998-1999 et seq. for Riverside County Health Services Agency Department of Environmental Health Vector Control Program. Potntial funding options (e.i. benefit assessments, special tax, general funding ) shall be investigated and pursued by the Department.

Section 3. SEVERABILITY.

If any provision, clause, sentence or paragraph of this Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstances shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision of application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared severable.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from the date of adoption.
