ORDINANCE NO. 814

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE ADDING CHAPTER 8.66

TO THE COUNTY CODE AUTHORIZING THE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN VEHICLES AS HAZARDOUS MATERIALS RESPONSE VEHICLES

 

 

         The Board of Supervisors of the County of Riverside, State of California, Ordains as follows:

 

Section 1.     The Director of Environmental Health is hereby authorized to apply to the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol to obtain permits for vehicles to be used for responding to hazardous materials emergencies.

                  (County Code Section 8.66.010)

 

Section 2.     The Vehicles selected for use in this program shall first be approved in writing by the Head of Fleet Services and the Head of County Risk Management before submittal to the Commissioner of the Highway Patrol. (County Code Section 8.66.020)

 

Section 3.     This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 2416(a) (10). (County Code Section 8.66.030)

 

Section 4.     This Ordinance shall be effective 30 days following adoption.
